Ah, Maine!

South Bridgton, Maine, USA

The sun is shining, the daffodils and horse chestnut are blooming (achoo!), the snowbirds are back, and I have a Master of Arts!

So now what? Good question. I'll be leaving mid-June to go back to Jordan for 9 weeks on a Critical Language Scholarship from the U.S. State Dept, and after that, your guess is as good as mine. I'm probably applying for more jobs as you read this. It's my philosophy that I keep throwing balls into the air until I catch one. But those of you who know me well know that I've always been really bad at catching balls.... Nevertheless, as a philosophy, it has stood me in good stead. I'll look for work while I'm in Jordan, too, since the best thing for me and my Arabic at this moment is full immersion in an Arabic-speaking environment ... and the whole Middle East, like much of the rest of the world, is looking for English teachers!

Stay tuned for tales from the Middle East and news on my employment prospects!
